Justice won

Disability Law Colorado has a new name, but our mission remains the same: We fight discrimination. We expose abuse and neglect. We push not just to pass laws but to enforce them.

Join us. Because justice isn’t granted it’s won.

Our Story

Disability Justice is a nonprofit civil rights organization. Our team of advocates, attorneys, and investigators forms Colorado’s Protection and Advocacy system.

Over the last 50 years, we’ve led the fight for equality and inclusion recognizing, in Dr. King’s words, that “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Our goal: to make Colorado the best place in America for people with disabilities to live, work, and thrive.

Our Impact

More than one million Coloradans live with a disability. We seek justice for all.

Between 2021 and 2025, we conducted 112 interviews with children confined to the Colorado Division of Youth Services — research that triggered a federal lawsuit to protect them.

In 2025, we served 2,957 individuals with physical disabilities, intellectual and developmental disabilities, serious mental illness, and traumatic brain injuries.

In 2024, a statewide settlement — driven by our complaint — required housing support and services for 7,256 nursing-home residents and 50,000 Coloradans at risk of institutionalization.
