Meghan Baker focuses on mental health, public policy, the intersection of disability and the criminal legal system, and treatment in jails, prisons, and other facilities. She joined Disability Justice in 2017, determined to drive lasting and systemic change for youth and adults in Colorado.
Meghan has practiced law in Colorado since 2011. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Plan II Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and both a JD and a master’s in social work from the University of Houston in 2011.
Meghan worked at the Colorado Office of the State Public Defender, representing adults and youth in El Paso and Arapahoe counties. From 2015 to 2017, she served as a guardian ad litem through The Law Offices of Meghan Baker LLC, advocating for the best interests of children involved in court cases in Denver.
Meghan lives in Denver with her son and a menagerie of pets. She enjoys traveling to any beach, spending down time in the mountains, listening to audiobooks, watching the Nuggets, and collecting basketball cards.
