Katie Boraz joined Disability Justice in 2025, bringing a strong background in disability rights and health justice. She earned undergraduate degrees in psychology and creative writing from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2011 and a master’s in secondary education from Johns Hopkins University in 2013. Before pursuing law, Katie taught middle school English, with a deep commitment to supporting students with disabilities.
Katie earned a JD from the Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in 2023, focusing on anti-discrimination and health law. During law school, she authored scholarship on mental health crisis intervention, externed for a federal judge, and worked at a rehabilitation hospital —experiences that strengthened her dedication to systemic change. Katie began her legal career as a fellow at Illinois’s Protection and Advocacy organization, where she had previously interned, before returning to Colorado to continue her advocacy.
Katie enjoys musical theater, college football, baking, and spending time with her beloved dog, Teddy.
